Product & fit
Can a Nibav lift be retrofitted into an existing house?
Yes — every model is self-supporting, standing on its own rail rather than a built shaft, so it retrofits into a finished home without knocking through walls or floors. This is exactly how most installations in Ghana are done, on houses that were never originally designed with a lift in mind.
How long does installation take?
Most installations complete in 2–5 working days depending on the model, not weeks or months. A free home survey confirms the exact timeline for your site before any work begins.
Is civil or structural work needed before installation?
No pit, no shaft, and no machine room are required — the lift sits directly on your existing floor slab. Some homes may need minor floor openings between levels, which the home survey identifies in advance so there are no surprises on install day.
Can the lift accommodate a wheelchair?
The Max cabin options (Series III Max, IV Max, and V Max) are wheelchair-capable, with wider internal diameters built for a wheelchair and companion. The standard two-person cabins are sized for everyday use rather than wheelchair access.
How many floors can a Nibav lift travel?
Up to four stops (G+3), with a maximum travel height of 13.5 metres. A home survey confirms how this maps onto your specific floor heights.
How noisy is the lift in operation?
The lift is designed to run quietly enough for a home environment, with the Series IV and V adding an upgraded motor and suspension specifically aimed at a quieter ride than the essential Series III. None of the models require the ongoing hydraulic pump noise associated with conventional lifts.
Power & safety
How much power does the lift consume?
The lift runs on a single-phase household supply, drawing power comparable to a large home appliance when going up. Coming down uses very little power at all, since the descent is driven mainly by gravity rather than the motor.
What happens during dumsor or a power outage?
If mains power cuts out at any point, the cabin descends automatically on gravity to the ground floor, so no one is ever trapped between floors. A backup battery also keeps the cabin lights, fan, alarm, and communication system running for roughly 30 minutes during the outage.
What warranty comes with the lift?
Every Nibav home lift comes with a comprehensive manufacturer warranty. All models are built to European safety standards and are TÜV NORD certified. We confirm the exact warranty terms for your chosen model in writing with your quote.
Buying & ownership
What are the maintenance and local service arrangements?
Servicing is handled by a local technician team in Ghana, with spare parts stocked locally and ongoing service plans available to keep the lift inspected on a schedule. A 24-hour support line and SOS assistance are there if something needs attention between visits.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is staged rather than due in one lump sum: an initial deposit against a pro-forma invoice secures your order, with further payments at agreed milestones through shipping, delivery, and installation. Full pricing detail is on our pricing page.
Who handles import duty and customs clearance?
We handle it — the price you are quoted is duty-paid and all-inclusive, so there is no separate customs bill from us or a shipping agent once the lift lands. See our pricing page for exactly what an all-inclusive quote covers.
